About The Position

Responsibilities: Under the supervision of a Coordinator or Supervisor, will carry out duties related to basic care of patients. Responsible for a variety of daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating, monitoring vital signs, and keeping patient rooms clean and tidy. Responsible for clinical record keeping and information-gathering activities. Provides support to nursing staff with those duties that do not require the specialized education and licensure of a Registered Nurse. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures. Requirements: Possession of a Certified Nursing Assistant certificate from an approved, accredited education program is required. A minimum of one (1) year of experience with individuals with mental health disorders, developmental disabilities, substance use disorder, or severe emotional disturbance preferred. Possession of First Aid and CPR Certification or willingness to obtain this at employer’s expense within 90 days of hire required. Must pass CNA exam and provide proof of registration with the Michigan Nurse Aide Registry. Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and reliable transportation for job related use required. Conditional Employment Requirements: Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a background verification and credentialing procedure consisting of: Michigan State Police clearance check, Medicaid/Medicare verification, education verification, and verification of an acceptable work history.
