About The Position
Under the supervision of a Coordinator or Supervisor, will carry out duties related to basic care of patients. Responsible for a variety of daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating, monitoring vital signs, and keeping patient rooms clean and tidy. Responsible for clinical record keeping and information-gathering activities. Provides support to nursing staff with those duties that do not require the specialized education and licensure of a Registered Nurse. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Possession of a Certified Nursing Assistant certificate from an approved, accredited education program is required.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience with individuals with mental health disorders, developmental disabilities, substance use disorder, or severe emotional disturbance preferred.
- Possession of First Aid and CPR Certification or willingness to obtain this at employer’s expense within 90 days of hire required.
- Must pass CNA exam and provide proof of registration with the Michigan Nurse Aide Registry.
- Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and reliable transportation for job related use required.
- Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a background verification and credentialing procedure consisting of: Michigan State Police clearance check, Medicaid/Medicare verification, education verification, and verification of an acceptable work history.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment 5-panel drug screen and an annual physical examination.
