About The Position

Certified Nursing Assistant-Sumner Overview Certified Nursing Assistant Shift: Full-Time; 40 hours per week - 6:45A-5:15P (Monday - Thursday) Eligible for a $3,000 sign on bonus. The Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible for assisting patients with activities of daily living, administering direct patient care, assisting in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment and performing any other duties deemed necessary to ensure quality patient care, under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse. Requirements

  • Must have a current CNA certificate
  • Must be on the Iowa Nurse Aide Registry
  • High school graduate or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the RN and interdisciplinary healthcare team to support patient care goals and outcomes as outlined in the plan of care.
  • Perform delegated patient care tasks within the CNA scope of practice, following competency validation and RN direction.
  • Accurately obtain patient information and document care in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) in real time, in accordance with hospital and unit policies.
  • Demonstrate awareness of patient and personal safety, taking appropriate action to prevent errors, injuries, and infections.
  • Communicate clearly, professionally, and respectfully with patients, families, and healthcare team members using both verbal and written communication.
  • Participate in safe and effective hand-offs, ensuring timely and accurate communication of patient care information, goals, and safety needs.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team and seek instruction and supervision as needed when performing new or unfamiliar tasks.
  • Maintain required certifications and complete competency validation for assigned duties.
