About The Position

This position is for a Certified Nursing Assistant or Nursing Assistant in the Oncology Special Care Unit (WSCU) at Werner Cancer Hospital, part of the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center. The WSCU is a 36-bed unit serving adult oncology patients receiving chemotherapy or high-dose chemotherapy, with or without bone marrow or stem cell transplant, and undergoing complex medication and blood product administration. The mission of the Special Care Unit is to provide expert acute/critical and compassionate care to Oncology/Hematology patients and families while supporting education and research. Requirements

Minimum of 18 years of age required.
High school education or equivalent required.
Possesses a Certified Nursing Assistant certification in the state of Nebraska (for Certified Nursing Assistant).
Six months experience in patient care required or must be enrolled in nursing program (for Nursing Assistant).
Demonstrated effective communication skills required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later).
