Requirements

  • Valid Virginia CNA certification (or willingness to obtain via our Nurse Aide Program), CPR/First Aid readiness (certifiable within 60 days), and full COVID-19 vaccination, with 6+ months in senior care a gentle plus (newly certified souls shine brightly).
  • Skills in: ADLs, vitals, and transfers—paired with the resilience to lift up to 50 lbs., kneel, bend, and roam our rolling grounds with enduring energy.
  • Empathetic ears for resident tales, clear communication to connect teams and kin, and a flexible, positive pulse that pulses in our inclusive, mission-moved medley.
  • Spotless background, drug-free devotion, and English ease for effortless exchanges—sparked by a sincere affinity for elders that makes every moment meaningful.
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • You must meet one of the following: 1) have a current license as a Certified Nurse Aide in Virginia; 2) have a Virginia Board of Nursing approved Geriatric Nurse Aide training course completion certificate; 3) provide documentation verifying the completion of at least one clinical nursing course including 40+ hours of clinical experience involving direct client care within the past 12 months while enrolled in a nursing education program preparing for registered nurse or practical nurse licensure. If #2 or #3 applies, you must become eligible to register for and take the state certification exam to become licensed as a Certified Nurse Aide in Virginia within 120 days of employment.
  • Current CPR certification, or be willing to obtain certification at VMRC within 60 days of employment.
  • Able to read, write, speak, and understand the basics of the English language.
  • Frequent lifting or moving objects or patients weighing up to 50 pounds as well as pushing/pulling up to 100 pounds.
  • Be dependable with ability to carry out responsibilities with limited supervision and work collaboratively as a member of a team.
  • Pleasant personality with ability to effectively communicate and interact with others in a tactful and professional manner.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with activities of daily living—bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility transfers—to foster dignity and delight in every dawn.
  • Taking vital signs, reporting changes to RNs/LPNs, and supporting treatments like simple wound care or feeding, ensuring safety and serenity in our vibrant venues.
