About The Position

Looking for flexibility while making a meaningful impact? As a PRN Certified Nursing Assistant, you will provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents while supporting the nursing team as needed. This role offers the opportunity to pick up shifts, stay engaged with residents, and help create a warm, supportive environment where residents feel safe, comfortable, and valued. Essential Duties Provide routine daily nursing care in accordance with each resident’s care plan and preferences. Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and oral care. Help residents with mobility needs such as repositioning, transfers, ambulation, and transport throughout the facility. Measure and record vital signs, weights, intake/output, and other observations as directed. Answer call lights promptly and ensure residents’ comfort and safety needs are consistently met. Observe and report changes in resident condition, skin concerns, incidents, or safety risks to nursing staff. Assist with meal service, hydration, and after-meal care while encouraging independence when possible. Maintain clean, organized resident rooms and ensure linens and personal care items are readily available. Support admissions, transfers, and discharges by preparing rooms and assisting residents with belongings. Participate in shift reports and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team. Follow infection control, safety, and confidentiality policies at all times. Create a positive atmosphere by engaging residents with kindness, conversation, and encouragement. Perform additional tasks as assigned to support resident care and team success during PRN coverage. Why PRN? Requirements

  • Minimum 10th grade education or equivalent
  • Active Certified Nursing Assistant certification in accordance with state regulations
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Compassionate, resident-centered approach
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and document care accurately
  • This role requires regular standing, walking, bending, and assisting residents with mobility and transfers.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous CNA experience preferred but not required
  • CPR certification preferred
