The purpose of this position is to provide nursing care to patients and support services to the licensed personnel. The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) has contact with patients, patient families and visitors, hospital employees, volunteers, administration, and physicians. Effective interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this position. The CNA will take direction from licensed personnel and work cooperatively with others, exercising initiative and judgement. Duties for the Wound Care Center (WCC) CNA include but are not limited to: Assists the RN and/or LPN in the delivery of individualized patient care Room patients per WCC policy/competency Observe patient's condition and respond to patient needs. Undress wounds/ prepare wound area for provider/RN to evaluate Reports significant changes to the RN immediately. Performs functions delegated by the RN/LPN. Performs nursing assistant duties, including but not limited to: Patient transfers/ambulation Bringing patients to and assisting them in the bathroom Blood glucose checks as needed Helping patients with ADLs Vital signs
