Job Summary Summary The Nurse Practitioner provides care to patients under the direct supervision of a board eligible or board-certified physician. The services provided falls within the scope of overall practice by the Nurse Practitioner including evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of individuals with medical and psychiat+M151ric disorders.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree Nursing required
  • Nurse Practitioner [NP] / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse [APRN] [State License] - Generic - HR Only required
  • One year nurse practitioner experience treating adolescents and/or psychiatric patients preferred
  • Must possess basic computer skills to use a variety of electronic or online systems for communication, clinical and administrative purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical services including evaluation, diagnosis and treatment to patients
  • Documents each clinical visit in the medical record on the day of service. Contributes to treatment plans and discharge summaries.
  • Participates in team rounds and other clinical meetings, and helps coordinate all treatment and discharge planning
  • Oversees appropriate medical care & prescribes medications as noted in the “McLean Hospital Guidelines for Practice Document”
  • Meets with families for clinical discussions as needed
  • Communicates with referring sources, primary care physicians, and other community providers
  • Attends program and hospital administrative meetings as required
  • Complies with all hospital clinical and administrative policies
  • Participates in utilization management, risk management, and quality assurance activities
  • Provides supervision of medical trainees, nursing trainees, and others as appropriate
  • Facilitates integration of medical services with other clinical program services
  • Will attend supervision by supervising psychiatrist/MD
