Job Summary Summary The Nurse Practitioner provides care to patients under the direct supervision of a board eligible or board-certified physician. The services provided falls within the scope of overall practice by the Nurse Practitioner including evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of individuals with medical and psychiat+M151ric disorders.
Requirements
- Master's Degree Nursing required
- Nurse Practitioner [NP] / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse [APRN] [State License] - Generic - HR Only required
- One year nurse practitioner experience treating adolescents and/or psychiatric patients preferred
- Must possess basic computer skills to use a variety of electronic or online systems for communication, clinical and administrative purposes.

Responsibilities
- Provides clinical services including evaluation, diagnosis and treatment to patients
- Documents each clinical visit in the medical record on the day of service. Contributes to treatment plans and discharge summaries.
- Participates in team rounds and other clinical meetings, and helps coordinate all treatment and discharge planning
- Oversees appropriate medical care & prescribes medications as noted in the “McLean Hospital Guidelines for Practice Document”
- Meets with families for clinical discussions as needed
- Communicates with referring sources, primary care physicians, and other community providers
- Attends program and hospital administrative meetings as required
- Complies with all hospital clinical and administrative policies
- Participates in utilization management, risk management, and quality assurance activities
- Provides supervision of medical trainees, nursing trainees, and others as appropriate
- Facilitates integration of medical services with other clinical program services
- Will attend supervision by supervising psychiatrist/MD
