About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner provides care to patients under the direct supervision of a board eligible or board-certified physician. The services provided falls within the scope of overall practice by the Nurse Practitioner including evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of individuals with medical and psychiat+M151ric disorders.

Requirements

Master's Degree Nursing required
Nurse Practitioner [NP] / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse [APRN] [State License] - Generic - HR Only required
Two years nurse practitioner experience treating adolescents and/or psychiatric patients preferred
Must possess basic computer skills to use a variety of electronic or online systems for communication, clinical and administrative purposes.

Responsibilities

Provides clinical services including evaluation, diagnosis and treatment to patients
Documents each clinical visit in the medical record on the day of service. Contributes to treatment plans and discharge summaries.
Participates in team rounds and other clinical meetings, and helps coordinate all treatment and discharge planning
Oversees appropriate medical care & prescribes medications as noted in the “McLean Hospital Guidelines for Practice Document”
Meets with families for clinical discussions as needed
Communicates with referring sources, primary care physicians, and other community providers
Attends program and hospital administrative meetings as required
Complies with all hospital clinical and administrative policies
Participates in utilization management, risk management, and quality assurance activities
Provides supervision of medical trainees, nursing trainees, and others as appropriate
Facilitates integration of medical services with other clinical program services
Will attend supervision by supervising psychiatrist/MD
Availability to work Saturday.
