About The Position

White Oak Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) for our Labor & Delivery Unit who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing. As a CNM, you will: • Provide direct antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and gynecologic patient services • Apply surgical skills and knowledge required to act as first assist in the Operating Room • Collaborate with physicians, support staff, and ancillary departments to provide quality patient care • Perform history and physical examination in a timely manner • Maintain role/specialty competencies as well as keeping current with changes in practice, i.e., new equipment, medications, treatment modalities. • Actively participate in departmental peer review, staff meetings, in-service education and quality improvement processes.

Requirements

  • Current Maryland State Nursing license
  • Current Certification as a Nurse Midwife from the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) or any other certifying body recognized by the Maryland Board of Nursing.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certificate
  • Certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring within 3 months of employment
  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing
  • Master’s degree in Nurse Midwifery
  • Two to three years’ work experience in department specific areas
