Our Certified Nurse Attendant impacts students' lives by: Providing personal care for students - including assistance feeding (by mouth) & food set up, toileting, transfers, and skin hygiene Collaborating with teachers, the school nurse, and the Special Education Director for health interventions needed for the students Providing basic first aid and emergency care to ill and injured students as directed by the school Nurse Assisting and participating in the students' health screening programs Assisting in maintaining a clean and healthful environment in the assigned classroom Maintaining the safety and development of the students in his/her care Working closely with the classroom teacher to support the students in his/her care during small groups, and supporting whole-class instruction Participating in frequent meetings with parents, teachers, and school leadership Participating in the life of the school, including student activities and events Crescent City Schools is a nonprofit Charter Management Organization whose mission is to support and develop open-enrollment charter schools that raise student achievement and prepare students for college. The Constellations School is a pre-K through 4th grade school setting for students with low-incidence disabilities. At Constellations, we prepare students to achieve their highest independent level of functioning. The Constellations Program will support students in meeting their functional skill needs as well as the academic skills aligned to the LEAP Connect. While this program is geared primarily towards students with autism, it is open to other students with limited to no verbal skills, intellectual impairments, and similar exceptionalities.
