About The Position

The 1:1 Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides individualized health support and direct care for a designated student during the school day under the supervision of the school nurse. This role ensures the student’s health, safety, and well-being, allowing for full participation in educational activities.

Requirements

• Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism
• Current CNA license
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Responsibilities

• Assist the assigned student with activities of daily living, including toileting, diapering, hygiene, and feeding.
• Provide safe lifting, transferring, and mobility assistance throughout the school day.
• Deliver first aid and provide ongoing health-related care as directed by the school nurse.
• Observe and track the student’s health status, including vital signs and any changes in condition, reporting promptly to the school nurse.
• Respond quickly to health-related emergencies for the assigned student.
• Work closely with the school nurse, teachers, and therapists to support the student’s individualized health and educational plan.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for the assigned student at all times.
