More about our team Join our team in a dynamic 17-bed Emergency Department (ED) with a 1:4 nurse to patient ratio. Our diverse staff includes RNs, CNAs, Paramedics, Secretaries, and Providers, creating a collaborative environment to deliver exceptional care. Known for our wide variety of patient experiences, including Abdominal pain, and shortness of breath, we also take pride in our chest pain accreditation. With an average daily volume of approximately 74 patients, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-quality emergency medical care while working alongside a dedicated team in a fast-paced setting. Requirements

High School graduate or GED preferred.
Current Listing as a Certified Nursing Assistant with the state of North Carolina Division of Facility Services with no substantiated findings of abuse, neglect or misappropriation of property in a facility that provides Nursing Care.
American Heart Association BLS Certification maintained.
If functioning in the Telemetry Tech role: Completion of a basic telemetry monitoring course and/or completion of competency training for basic arrhythmia interpretation may be required as determined by the department director and/or
If functioning in the Unit Secretary role: Completion of training in basic unit secretary tasks (i.e., transcription of physician order, computer data entry, etc.)
Ability to lift and move at least 50 pounds.
Ability to see colors, see at least 1 mm squares.
Ability to hear within normal range.
Ability to reach overhead.
Ability to remain calm, continue to function effectively and develop priorities during stressful situations.
Ability to communicate effectively using written and verbal media.
Ability to move an operate equipment and carry supplies.
Ability to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, possibly taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, grooming, eating, and ambulation.
Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
Assists with keeping patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean and orderly.
