About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) works under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The CNA/PCT performs multi-skilled duties within the limits of training and certification in caring for the patient. Assists nursing team with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs, comfort, and safety of patients. Assists patients with personal hygiene, dressing, walking. Changes bed linens and assists with patient transportation to tests and procedures. May serve and collect food trays and provide patients with between-meal nourishment. May record temperature or vital signs under the direction of a nurse. PRN Status Clause: This is a PRN as-needed position, you must be available to work at least 12 hours bi-weekly, as needed according to departmental demands. You may be required to work additional hours if requested by your supervisor to accomplish work objectives. Work hours may vary (increase or decrease) depending on the needs of the unit.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a CNA program is required.
  • Currently registered as a Certified Nurse Assistant in South Carolina; must be current on the Nurse Aide Registry if certified.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) with the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
  • Must be available to work at least 12 hours bi-weekly, as needed according to departmental demands.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients in their move toward independence by setting realistic goals and treatment plans.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team and often coordinate patient care and team activities.
  • Assists nursing team with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs, comfort, and safety of patients.
  • Assists patients with personal hygiene, dressing, walking.
  • Changes bed linens and assists with patient transportation to tests and procedures.
  • May serve and collect food trays and provide patients with between-meal nourishment.
  • May record temperature or vital signs under the direction of a nurse.
