About The Position

The Lutheran Home is hiring for our Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) position. During 12-hour shifts, you will provide care and daily support to our residents, guided by our core values of service, excellence, dignity, fulfillment, grace, and stewardship. In this full-time role, you’ll follow a consistent two-week schedule, working 7 out of 14 days with a three-day weekend every other week. Requirements

  • Minimum age of 18
  • Current Missouri CNA Certification

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily personal care functions
  • Assist with the feeding of residents
  • Weigh residents using upright, chair and mechanical lift scale
  • Assist in turning and positioning of residents
  • Transfer residents using proper body mechanics or lifting devices for accident prevention as indicated on the care plan
  • Demonstrate appropriate knowledge for safe use of medical equipment (cane, walkers, mechanical lifts, side rails, brace, splint, oxygen)
  • Help keep residents’ rooms clean and supplied
  • Make/change beds (unoccupied and occupied)
  • Ambulate residents who require minimal assistance
  • Perform skin checks and notify the nurse of any abnormalities in skin integrity
  • Answer residents’ calls and take appropriate action
  • Immediately report any abuse, neglect, and/or changes in resident’s conditions or incidents to the nurse
  • Communicate residents' requests or concerns in a timely manner
