The Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) functions as an integral part of the patient care team by performing selected patient/resident care treatments and tasks as delegated by licensed nurses and is accountable for his/her own action in performing duties as assigned and for which he/she is trained. Included is recognition and understanding of the physical, cognitive and psychosocial changes unique to the age group served. This position is for the 3 West Medical Surgical unit, a 30-bed unit primarily focused on advanced Medical/Surgical and stroke patients. An individualized orientation program with knowledgeable preceptors focuses on clinical skill development and enhancement of professional role within the Med-Surg environment. This is a PRN position requiring a minimum of 24 hours off shift per 6-week schedule, including 12-hour day/evening/night shifts, and weekend and holiday as needed.
