DMU is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (.8) who performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties within the Behavioral Health clinic. What you’ll do: Welcome patients to the clinic. Gather clinical information from the patient and other sources. Document clinical information in the patient’s electronic health record (EHR); including taking and recording patient vital signs, medications, allergies, histories, and other clinically relevant information. Answer phones, take messages and follow-up on messages from patients, physicians and other staff members in a timely manner. Call in medication prescriptions as directed by the physicians/Physician Assistants. Prepare patients and the exam room for procedures; draw up any needed medications for procedures. Assists physicians as needed. Documents accordingly. Schedule appointments for referrals and other tests ordered by the physicians.
