Position Summary The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting the physician in all aspects of clinical practice. This position ensures efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and compliance with established protocols while promoting a positive patient experience. The CMA also assists with administrative responsibilities, front office support, and practice operations to uphold MDVIP’s standards of excellence in service, quality, and care.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA)
  • Phlebotomy experience
  • Two years of related medical experience (EKG, injections, vitals, triage, etc.)
  • Two years of knowledge in examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures
  • Two years of knowledge in medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care
  • Two years of OSHA and HIPAA compliance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a clinical setting, particularly in outpatient practices.
  • Familiarity with specific EMR systems (e.g., EPIC, Athena).
  • Experience with patient education and health promotion.

Responsibilities

  • Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures, ensuring a comfortable and efficient environment.
  • Perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, administering medications, and preparing lab specimens for testing.
  • Manage patient records by accurately inputting information into electronic health records (EHR) and maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Schedule patient appointments and coordinate follow-up care, ensuring optimal patient flow within the practice.
  • Educate patients on their treatment plans, medication instructions, and preventive care measures.
