About The Position

Overview The Registered Medical Assistant position is under the supervision of the physician. The RMA to the Physician is responsible for providing direct or indirect care to patients who present with urgent, emergent, or potential health problems; utilizes knowledge of basic Medical Assistant principals, practices and ethics; participates in the organization and management of the physician's practice. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training

Responsibilities

• Assist physician in setting up for procedures and exams, revising daily schedules; obtaining charts and charge tickets, locating lab tests and X-ray reports
• Ensure that patient chart/EMR entries are made accurately and in a timely manner
• Contact pharmacy to order new and refill prescriptions; notify patient; document appropriately
• Notify hospital or personnel of physician's orders
• Triage patients to ensure productive departmental flow
