The Opportunity: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) to join our Washington Street Pavilion Pediatrics team. This role is integral in supporting both patients and providers, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and compassionate care.

Requirements

  • Certified (CMA) or Registered (RMA) Medical Assistant
  • Graduate of an accredited ABHES or CAAHEP Medical Assistant program
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • American Heart Association BLS certification required
  • Knowledge of standard clinical, lab, and medical procedures
  • Computer literacy and accurate data entry skills required

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with VFC, CHIRP, and VOMS systems strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an ambulatory care setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and stock exam rooms to ensure readiness for patient care
  • Room patients, check vital signs, and assess patient needs to communicate effectively with providers
  • Assist providers with procedures and patient care as needed
  • Administer injections, perform EKGs, and coordinate referrals
  • Triage patient phone calls, review test results, manage pharmacy calls, and review medications
  • Complete patient documentation accurately and in a timely manner within the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
  • Perform point-of-care lab testing, prepare specimens, and maintain compliance with CLIA standards
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, coworkers, and external partners to support patient care and outcomes
  • Ensure adherence to clinical standards including OSHA, CLIA, ADA, and VFC program requirements
