Summary: The Certified Medical Assistant primarily provides clinical and administrative support to our OB/GYN physicians and other clinical staff. This position requires strong communication and organizational skills and being able to be empathetic towards patients while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Essential Functions: Responsible for verifying patient information by interviewing patients, recording medical history, and confirming the purpose of the visit. Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; reporting patient history summary. Responsible for collecting and preparing laboratory specimens, giving patients injections, and drawing blood. Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding electronic and paper medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; keeping patient information confidential. Informs patients by transmitting physician orders and questions about surgery. Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations. Assist with sterilizing equipment / maintain proper working knowledge of the Autoclave.
