About The Position

This position is for a Certified Medical Assistant at Spring Mills Primary Care and Pediatrics. The role involves performing basic nursing skills under the direction and supervision of a practice physician, advanced practice professional, and/or registered nursing staff. Key responsibilities include greeting and escorting patients, preparing exam rooms, assisting with exams and procedures, scheduling appointments, educating patients on follow-up, maintaining quality control logs, ensuring medical equipment functionality, and assisting with medical documentation. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire, and current National Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant. Preferred qualifications include graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Program and one year of healthcare experience. The position involves physical demands such as medium work and prolonged standing/walking, and a working environment that includes close collaboration, irregular hours, and exposure to biohazards and infectious diseases.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Greets and escorts patient to exam rooms; prepares for provider visit by obtaining initial information and vital signs.
  • Prepares exam rooms for patients with attention to cleanliness and availability of supplies.
  • Assists with and/or performs exams, tests, and procedures.
  • Schedules appointments and sets up referral contacts as needed.
  • Assists provider during patient examinations and procedures.
  • Educates patients on follow up expectations.
  • Maintains quality control testing logs as required.
  • Ensures all medical equipment is in proper working condition.
  • Assists patients with completion of medical documentation.
