About The Position

The ENT clinic has many subspecialties enabling a multidisciplinary approach to caring for our patients. The providers we support specialize in facial plastics, reconstructive surgery, voice and swallowing, disorders of the ears, nose and throat, and much more! Clinic tasks include rooming patients, gathering of needed information for patient visits, coordinating services, and assisting with procedures. As a clinical care team member you will become highly skilled in ENT and ultimately be an expert in this field.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited medical assisting program with one year of patient care experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
  • Annual competencies are required to be maintained.
  • Possess ability to understand and implement a variety of detailed instructions in the execution of therapeutic procedures and ability to make accurate physical observation of patients.
  • Failure to abide by MUHA policies are subject to disciplinary action, including termination.
  • Employee must possess considerable knowledge of basic medical terminology and human anatomy; ability to understand and implement a variety of detailed instructions in the execution of complex therapeutic procedures; and ability to make accurate physical observation of patients.
  • Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be certified through the American Medical Technologist (AMT) or American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or National Health career Association (NHA) or MedCA as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP).
  • Graduation from a recognized Licensed Practical Nursing program and licensed as an LPN within the state of South Carolina or a compact state.
  • One year of LPN experience preferred.
  • Licensed as an LPN within the state of South Carolina or a compact state.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of an accredited medical assisting program with one year of patient care experience preferred.
  • One year of LPN experience preferred.
