Essential Functions of the Role Help clinics in various areas and provide needed support. Aid in patient care under a physician's guidance. Prepare treatment rooms for exams by cleaning and restocking. Monitor inventory levels for supplies, equipment, and instruments. Assist patients, guiding them to the examination room and recording important data for their medical records. Prepare charts and forms. Measure patients' vital signs, like pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height. Record these to prepare them for exams, tests, and x-rays. Perform routine patient testing, like electrocardiograms, blood specimens, and urine samples. Administer oral, rectal medications, injections, and vaccinations. Identify and report any adverse reactions. Note that handling of controlled substances is not involved. Answer telephones, relay messages, and schedule patient appointments. Help with team meetings. Manage workflows, schedules, and train staff. Proactively identify problems and improve processes.
