About The Position

We are searching for a Medical Assistant to collaborate with our GI team in support of patient care services at our clinics located in Boise and Nampa. This is a wonderful opportunity to gain on the job training and experience in our Teaching Health Center. Purpose This medical assistant will be working both as a Endoscopy Technician and as a Medical Assistant in our Family Medicine Practice. In The Endoscopy Technician part of the roll you will be assisting with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of the Procedures Nursing Manager. The Endoscopy Technician is responsible for the decontamination, cleaning, processing, high level disinfection and or terminal sterilization of flexible endoscopes and ancillary equipment following established infection control practices. In the Medical Assistant (MA) part of the roll you shall be accountable for 1) providing excellent direct patient care alongside our providers, 2) supporting the Patient Centered Medical Home model of care and 3) maintaining accurate and complete documentation within the patient’s medical record. Schedule - 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday with the opportunity for evenings or Saturday morning rotations. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant program required.
  • Successful completion of Pentax evaluation for competency required. The timeline for competency evaluation may vary dependent upon scheduling with Pentax. Competency must be demonstrated prior to the conclusion of the 90-day probationary period.
  • Currently certified by American Medical Technologists, American Association of Medical Assistants, American Registry of Medical Assistants, Licensed Practical Nurse or other accredited certifying organization.
  • Meets established Credentials Committee requirements for MA scope of practice including fully credentialed, licensed and privileged as well as the ability to pass a background check.

  • We require immunizations for all staff to include an annual influenza vaccine as a requisite for employment. Newly hired staff who are not able to be vaccinated due to medical reasons or sincerely held religious beliefs must apply for vaccination exemption prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

  • At least one year of experience in a clinic/outpatient setting, preferred.
  • Instrument Sterilization / Reprocessing preferred.
