About The Position

The Family Medicine Clinic at Hayes E. Willis provides full family medicine services for variety of needs. We primarily care for underserved population to include newborn to geriatric, preventative care, chronic disease management, sick visits, substance abuse treatment, transgender care and education and more. Our dedicated team of nurses, CMAs and providers work together to provide continuity of care for all patient needs. The Certified Medical Assistant provides direct, age-specific care to a patient or group of patients based on medical orders and the plan of care under the direction of the physician.

Requirements

Current Medical Assistant Certification through a recognized national professional association such as, the American Association of Medical Assistants, the American Medical Technologists, The National Association of Healthcare Professions, the American Registry of Medical Assistants, or the National Healthcare Association.
One (1) year of medical assistant work experience within the last three (3) years if individual is not a graduate of a medical assistant program
No work experience if individual is a graduate of a medical assistant program
Previous experience using a personal computer and various software applications, including Microsoft, e-mail, etc.
Demonstrated experience utilizing strong organizational, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills
High School Diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

Two (2) to three (3) years of previous experience as a Certified Medical Assistant
Previous experience in an academic health care environment
Graduation from a Medical Assisting training program from an accredited program of study such as the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
