About The Position

Georgia Tech Sports Medicine is currently seeking Certified Intern Athletic Trainers for the 2026-2027 school year. Position Summary: The Georgia Tech Sports Medicine Certified Intern Athletic Trainer is responsible for providing prevention and care of injuries, development and implementation of rehabilitation programs, maintaining medical records including documentation of injuries and treatments, scheduling medical appointments, sports coverage for practice and games which will require travel, and assisting with administrative duties. Sport assignments available include men's tennis/football, women's tennis/football and cheerleading.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Current NATABOC certification and eligibility for licensure in the state of Georgia.
  • CPR/AED certification for the professional rescuer.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Previous experience in intercollegiate and/or professional athletics preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and independently with students, staff, faculty, alumni and community members.
  • Strong writing, communication, administrative and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in intercollegiate and/or professional athletics preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the Georgia Tech Athletic Association in a professional manner at all times.
  • Demonstrate competent practice through compliance with ethical, legal, and other professional standards to maximize the quality of care and ensure that the needs of student-athletes requiring healthcare services can be addressed appropriately.
  • Possess excellent oral/ written communication skills, organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and time management as well as the ability to work with electronic medical record keeping systems.
  • Assist in the supervision and education of undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Demonstrate the ability to multitask and work independently.
  • Demonstrate the ability to engage effectively with others of diverse cultures and backgrounds.
  • Must be able to work weekend and non-traditional work hours.
  • Must be able to lift and move approximately 50 pounds due to the physical demands of the position.
