About The Position

The Certified Industrial Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in a wastewater treatment facility. This role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical systems to support continuous production and facility operations while complying with all safety regulations and electrical codes.

Requirements

  • Journeyman or Master Electrician certification/license
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an electrician in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, controls, and safety standards
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Proficiency with electrical testing and diagnostic equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with PLCs
  • Experience with VFDs, automation, and industrial control systems
  • Electrical experience in manufacturing, utilities, or wastewater treatment facilities
  • CMMS experience
  • Arc flash training or certification

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, inspect, and repair industrial electrical systems, including power distribution, motors, controls, lighting, and instrumentation
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues involving PLCs, VFDs, MCCs, sensors, and automated systems
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, ladder logic diagrams, and technical manuals
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability
  • Test electrical systems using appropriate tools (multimeters, megohmmeters, thermal cameras, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, OSHA, NFPA 70E, and company safety policies
  • Lockout/tagout (LOTO) equipment prior to performing maintenance or repairs
  • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to resolve equipment issues
  • Document work performed, parts used, and maintenance activities in CMMS or maintenance logs
  • Assist with equipment upgrades, retrofits, and new installations
  • Respond to emergency electrical issues during production or off-hours as needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Participate in safety training and audits
  • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or near misses immediately
