About The Position
The home health aide provides services that are ordered by the physician in the plan of care. The duties of a home health aide include the provision of hands-on personal care, performance of simple procedures as an extension of therapy or nursing services, assistance in ambulation or exercises, and assistance in administering medications that are ordinarily self-administered.
Requirements
- Is certified by the State Department of Health and is listed on the Home Health Aide registry.
- Is in good standing with the State Nurse Aide registry as a Certified Home Health Aide.
- Is at least 18 years of age.
- Possesses and maintains good physical stamina and mental health. Prior to patient contact, presents a pre-employment health clearance.
- Has ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given.
- Is self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision.
- Demonstrates empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail and the impaired.
- Demonstrates flexible and cooperation in fulfilling role obligation.
- Demonstrates tact, patience, and good personal hygiene.
- Licensed driver with automobile that is insured in accordance with Agency requirements and is in good working order.
