Requirements
- Valid New Jersey CHHA Certification – required by law to provide hands-on care.
- Completion of NJ state-approved training program : 60 hours of classroom instruction 16 hours supervised clinical practice
- Criminal background check clearance (mandatory for certification).
- Strong communication, reliability, and compassion.
- Physical ability to safely perform transfers and caregiving duties.
Nice To Haves
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
- CPR/First Aid Certification (preferred, not required).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (preferred for client travel).
Responsibilities
- Personal Care & Daily Living Assistance Provide help with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility.
- Assist with meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, and errands.
- Offer companionship and emotional support.
- Health & Safety Support Give medication reminders as directed.
- Accompany clients to medical appointments or community activities.
- Observe, record, and report changes in client condition to the supervising nurse.
- Follow infection control and safety procedures consistently.
- Professional Excellence Maintain confidentiality and dignity for all clients.
