About The Position

The primary function of the Flight Instructor II is to train customers to become pilots capable of safely demonstrating the skills and knowledge necessary to operate the aircraft for which they are being trained.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Certified Flight Instructor Certificate - CFI
  • Certified Flight Instructor Instrument - CFII
  • 3rd Class Medical
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Completed all FAA mandated flight training necessary for the issuance of a CFI and CFII certificates.
  • Piloting and people skills necessary to be an effective teacher.
  • Provide good customer service to the student pilot/customer.
  • Instructional knowledge of the subject they intend to teach.
  • Pass the FAA mandated medical exam and maintain that same physical condition.
  • Enter into and exit from, without assistance, all aircraft operated by the Flight Training Department at Central Flying Academy.
  • Read, understand, and interpret instructions and information using the English language.
  • Effectively communicate new concepts to student pilots and develop methods for insuring the student pilot can demonstrate an understanding of the concept once taught.

  • College degree in Aviation
  • Experience be part of the flight training program.

Responsibilities

  • Train student pilots using the approved syllabus for the course of instruction being conducted.
  • Promote the sales of goods and services at Central Flying Academy.
  • Safe operation of aircraft in which flight instruction is being given.
  • Report any unsafe operation of Central Flying Academy equipment or aircraft to the Flight Training Manager immediately.
  • Remove from service aircraft which have been found unsafe for flight and report that aircraft to the Flight Training Manager.
  • Insuring student pilots at Central Flying Academy are trained to the standards set by Central Flying Academy and FAA regulations.
  • Insuring the student pilot’s expectations with regard to customer service are met or exceeded
  • Follow the Flight Instructor Guidelines.
  • Maintain a professional bearing at all times.
  • Keep the schedule board accurate with respect to their availability.
