About The Position

W.F. Hann & Sons are seeking an experienced Certified Fleet Mechanic for their Warrensville Heights, OH, location. Our fleet of service vehicles is essential to our operations, and we are seeking a skilled Certified Mechanic to ensure our vehicles remain safe, dependable, and ready for the field. The Certified Mechanic is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on company vehicles, including light- and medium-duty trucks and vans in our fully equipped mechanics bay with hydraulic lift. This role ensures maximum uptime, compliance with safety standards, and optimal fleet performance to support daily field operations. $1,500 sign-on bonus for experienced Mechanics. Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of experience working as an automotive, diesel, or fleet mechanic (HVAC/plumbing industry experience a plus).
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license; CDL preferred but not required.
  • Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills, including with electrical and fuel systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair documents.
  • Proficient with computerized diagnostic tools and fleet maintenance software.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical work in a shop environment.
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to safety and quality.

Nice To Haves

  • CDL preferred but not required.
  • HVAC/plumbing industry experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles, including inspections, oil changes, tire rotations, and brake service.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues across various makes and models.
  • Maintain accurate service records, repair logs, and inspection documentation in accordance with Ohio and federal regulations.
  • Conduct safety inspections and ensure all vehicles meet DOT, EPA, and company compliance standards.
  • Manage parts inventory and coordinate with vendors for timely ordering of components and supplies.
  • Perform emergency roadside service as needed.
  • Collaborate with operations and dispatch teams to minimize downtime and ensure proper vehicle availability.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment.
