Certified CVOR Surgical Technologist – Open Heart Team - Savannah, Georgia (Full Time, Direct Hire)
About The Position
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join a specialized Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) team supporting complex open-heart and thoracic procedures. This role is based in a high-acuity surgical environment featuring dedicated cardiac OR suites performing approximately 1,000 cases annually. The Surgical Technologist will work under the supervision of the circulating Registered Nurse and collaborate closely with the surgical team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality operative care.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
- Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 1–2 years of dedicated CVOR experience required
- General operating room experience required
- Current BLS certification (AHA or equivalent), or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
Responsibilities
- Prepare, organize, and maintain surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies for cardiovascular procedures
- Assist surgeons intraoperatively, ensuring readiness and sterile field integrity
- Perform and document accurate surgical counts with the circulating nurse
- Support patient positioning, transport, and perioperative safety measures
- Ensure OR turnover, cleaning, and preparation for subsequent cases
- Maintain compliance with infection control and safety protocols
- Demonstrate professionalism, urgency, and commitment to continuous learning
