About The Position

Job Summary: Our busy orthopaedic practice is seeking a motivated and professional Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) to join our clinical team. This position works directly with orthopaedic surgeons in both clinic and surgical settings to provide comprehensive care to patients throughout their treatment journey. The ideal candidate will have experience in an orthopaedic or surgical setting, excellent patient interaction skills, and preferably hold their Orthopaedic Technologist Certified (OTC) credential. Key Responsibilities: Assist physicians during clinical examinations and patient assessments Assist in surgery, including prepping the patient, positioning, instrument handling, and sterile technique support (under supervision and within scope of practice), suture closure Apply and remove braces, splints, casts, and other orthopedic devices Provide patient education regarding injuries, post-op care, and rehabilitation protocols Perform wound care, suture/staple removal, and dressing changes Document patient encounters in the electronic medical record (EMR) accurately and efficiently Coordinate orders for imaging, physical therapy, DME, and surgical scheduling Support minor in-office procedures as needed Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked clinical and surgical prep area Participate in continuing education and training related to orthopaedics and surgical procedures

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training
  • BOC Certification (Board of Certification, Inc.) required
  • Current state license to practice as an Athletic Trainer
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)

Nice To Haves

  • OTC certification preferred or willingness to obtain
  • Prior experience assisting in surgery or working in an OR environment strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation a plus
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills
  • Proficiency with EMR systems
