About The Position

The Certification Programs & Coordination Intern supports CPI and ACP during a period of growth as industry certification programs continue to scale. This role contributes to research, coordination, and planning efforts related to certification expansion, systems development, and potential global alignment. Working closely with CPI and ACP staff, the intern will support cross-functional efforts related to workforce credentialing, certification governance, and program design, gaining exposure to how certification systems are developed and managed within a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.

Requirements

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student, or recent graduate, with an interest in clean energy, workforce development, public policy, education, international systems, or a related field.
  • Strong research, writing, and synthesis skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with guidance.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework or experience related to workforce development, certifications, education systems, or public policy.
  • Comfort working in evolving or ambiguous environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on certification systems, workforce credentialing models, and domestic or international approaches relevant to clean energy and adjacent industries.
  • Support coordination and documentation efforts, including tracking initiatives, timelines, and open questions.
  • Assist with coordination and engagement of internal and external stakeholders participating in working groups focused on certification scale and alignment, including scheduling, materials preparation, and follow-up documentation.
  • Support landscape analyses related to certification adoption, scale, and potential global alignment.
  • Prepare briefing materials, summaries, and research memos to support internal coordination and decision-making.
  • Help organize information related to certification governance, standards alignment, and program design.
  • Support additional projects related to certification strategy, systems development, and operational planning, as needed.
