About The Position

Reporting to the Certification Engineering Manager, the Certification Engineer will research, plan and execute the FAA certification process supporting our Galley Inserts value steam. They will perform standard engineering assignments usually representing a significant portion of a larger project as well as select engineering techniques to solve problems and make design recommendations. Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or electrical engineering.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the company’s immigration sponsorship now or in the future. The company will not offer immigration sponsorship for this position. The company will not seek an export authorization for this role.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with FAA, EASA, Boeing and Airbus Certification & Airworthiness requirements
  • Experience with aircraft interiors

Responsibilities

  • Creation, adaptation and review of qualification documents (Test Plans, Test Reports, Similarity Documents, etc.).
  • Support in evaluating regulatory and customer requirements and selecting a suitable verification approach.
  • Participates as a team member in a specific phase of a broad engineering assignment.
  • Represents the certification engineering team in design reviews.
  • Reviews and approves design changes from a certification perspective.
  • Leads the certification test activities such as Environmental, Pressure, Structural, Flammability testing etc.
  • Ensures successful completion of the assigned project phase within the budgeted time and cost constraints.
  • Participates in defining engineering approaches, and in planning and scheduling work.
  • Works on problems of broad scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
  • Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
