About The Position

Design, develop and deliver training programs (classroom, virtual, one -on -one) for physicians (MDs), advanced practitioners and other clinical users on Cerner modules and workflows. Partner with clinical leadership, informatics, IT and project management teams to understand workflows, system changes and go -live plans. Create training materials: facilitator guides, job aids, quick reference sheets, e -learning modules. Provide “elbow -to -elbow” support (on -the -floor) at go -lives and during adoption phases to assist clinicians with live system usage. Assess user competency and training effectiveness; perform follow -up training, reinforce adoption and provide support for users who need additional assistance. Serve as a subject matter expert on Cerner functionality and how it maps to clinical workflow and best practices. Monitor and report on training metrics (number trained, competency achieved, user satisfaction, adoption rates). Identify barriers to adoption, collaborate to optimize workflows, and update training content accordingly. Travel frequently (often to client sites, sometimes nationally/internationally) depending on implementation roll -out. Maintain up -to -date knowledge of the Cerner platform, new releases, and how they impact clinical workflows.

Requirements

  • Clinical background (for an “MD Trainer” working with physicians) — often an RN, MD, advanced practice clinician or equivalent clinical experience.
  • Prior experience in adult education/training, facilitation of physician/clinical staff training.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) — ideally Cerner modules (e.g., PowerChart, CPOE, Care Compass , FirstNet) or at least healthcare IT experience.
  • Strong understanding of clinical workflows (acute care, specialty care) and how technology supports them.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to travel — close to 100% on site.
  • Cerner MD Training: 3 years

  • Acute/Inpatient Training: 3 years
  • Willingness to travel: 100%

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, certification in clinical informatics or training/education, previous go -live experience.
  • Familiarity with change management, adoption strategies, adult learning theory and training content development.
