About The Position

The Centre Café is a public-facing café and a central gathering space within the Christian Family Centre. Café Team Members provide food service and hospitality to guests of all ages while delivering excellent customer service in a Christ-honoring manner. This role requires attentiveness to customer needs, accuracy in food preparation and transactions, and a commitment to maintaining a clean, welcoming, and efficient café environment. Café Team Members play an important role in creating a positive experience that reflects the mission and values of Lenawee Christian Ministries.

Requirements

Profess and demonstrate a personal commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Support and adhere to the mission, values, and doctrinal beliefs of Lenawee Christian Ministries.
Model a Christ-centered life marked by integrity, humility, and excellence.
At least 18 years of age.
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills; enjoy serving others.
Hospitable, relational, and team oriented.
Dependable, punctual, and detail oriented.
Able to handle conflict in a respectful and God-honoring manner.
Flexible availability, including the ability to work varying shifts.
High-energy, organized, and efficient with a friendly demeanor.
Ability to obtain and maintain a current Food Handler’s Card.

Nice To Haves

Previous server experience preferred.
Current Food Handler's Card preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare and fulfill all food and beverage orders in a timely and accurate manner.
Operate the cash register and process transactions accurately and responsibly.
Restock café supplies and properly store inventory.
Fill and maintain the ice bucket as needed.
Wash and sanitize café dishes using the dish machine.
Complete assigned opening and closing procedures.
Clean and maintain café tables, counters, equipment, floors, and work areas.
Provide consistent, friendly, and efficient customer service.
Interact appropriately and respectfully with guests of all ages.
Display a Christ-honoring attitude in all interactions.
Maintain a current Food Handler’s Card and comply with all Health Department guidelines.
