About The Position

This position is responsible for scheduling all medical services in alignment with GVMH guidelines. The individual will work collaboratively with a team of schedulers and referral coordinators to ensure that all GVMH patients are scheduled in a timely and accurate manner. Key responsibilities include coordinating and managing patient appointments by arranging examinations, consultations, procedures, and treatments with healthcare providers, as well as any diagnostic testing ordered by the provider. Additionally, it is essential to accurately record patient information and provide exceptional customer service by responding to phone inquiries and addressing questions related to appointments. This role will report to the Director of Scheduling & Referral Coordination.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Medical terminology course (within 30 days of hire, provided in-house)
  • Effective oral and written communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to work efficiently, with the majority of daily work being done over the phone while navigating the electronic medical records.
  • Ability to communicate with patients, providers, other departments, and external customers such as referring healthcare providers and facilities.
  • Able to read, understand, and communicate medical terminology.
