About The Position

Receives and dispenses patient supplies throughout the hospital. Accurately fills all orders and refills Pyxis supply stations. Assembles all traction as ordered by nursing units. Uses infection control procedures in handling sterile supplies.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

Inventories and stocks all designated areas daily in an accurate and timely manner.
Fills all requisitions and requests for supplies promptly and accurately.
Posts filled requisitions in the computer before supplies leave the area.
Uses the inventory process for Meditech, to take supplies out of inventory and charge to all areas keeping counts and charges accurate.
Performs minor troubleshooting of all Pyxis supply stations.
Contacts Pyxis help if needed, helps do monthly inventory counts, follows downtime procedures and can pull reports from Pyxis.
Rotates stock consistently and understands the first in, first out theory for dispensing supplies.
Initials and dates all supplies placed in inventory.
Notify Manager of low or unusual demand on items or if counts are off.
Maintains traction in a clean usable condition.
Accurately assembles all traction on patient beds, as ordered and sets up traction carts for House Supervisor needs after hours.
Maintains a clean, neat and orderly Department including compacting all trash, cleaning shelves and supply carts monthly, cleaning pyxis cabinets.
Works Linen areas as needed, including stocking, maintaining accurate records of weights, fills all orders through the facility and enters linen usage into the computer.
Works in the receiving area as needed, including inspecting and signing for hospital deliveries, receiving in the Meditech system and delivering as needed, filling requisitions for supplies from the office supply inventory.
