Tufts University School of Dental Medicine (TUSDM) offers one of the most forward-looking educational environments in dental medicine in the country. Since its founding in 1868, TUSDM has been committed to leadership in education, patient care, research, and community service. Students receive an interdisciplinary education, integrated with medicine, and have access to training in dental specialties. Clinics managed at TUSDM provide quality, comprehensive care to more than 20,000 individuals annually. Nationally and internationally, the school promotes health and educational programs and researches new procedures, materials, and technologies to improve oral health. The Central Sterilization Lead is a hands-on role within the Central Sterilization Facility (CSF) that supports day-to-day operations while serving as a developmental leadership position. Reporting to a Central Sterilization Supervisor, the lead functions as a technical and operational resource for CSF staff, helping to ensure consistent workflow, adherence to protocols, and effective communication across shifts. This role is not a supervisory position, but a leadership-in-training role designed to support supervisors, reinforce standards, assist with training and coverage coordination, and contribute to operational problem-solving. The Lead plays a key role in stabilizing operations during peak periods, staff absences, and special events, while building the skills required for future supervisory advancement. This role may perform other related duties as necessary to support evolving organizational needs and institutional priorities.
