The Central Sterile Manager is responsible for managing, coordinating, and assisting in daily evaluation of sterile processing services. TriStar Skyline Medical Center is a 350+ bed facility. We are Tennessees first comprehensive stroke center and a national leader in neuroscience. In addition, we are equipped with 3 helipads, new ICU and Medical/Surgical floors, and burn care services. We offer a CARF accredited Inpatient Rehabilitation program and are a state-designated Level I Trauma Center. Requirements

Graduate of RN or Surgical Technology Program required.
3 years of perioperative or related experience required.
Sterile Processing Certification (CRCST) required within 1 year of hire.

Nice To Haves

Previous management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Assign and evaluate the daily activities of Sterile Processing team.
Coordinate equipment and supply needs.
Coordinate staff development and orientation activities.
Facilitate instrumentation and equipment needs for the daily OR schedule/patient care units and communicate effectively with other areas in the department and the hospital to ensure continuity of care.
Interact with physicians and staff in a positive manner that encourages a team approach.
Investigate patient, interdepartmental, and departmental problems that arise, evaluating the impact on the department and patient care. Keep the department director informed of problems and problem-solving activities in a timely manner. Seek solutions utilizing all available resources.
Assist in the implementation and enforcement of hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Maintain current knowledge related to policies and procedures.
Provide direct SP care activities based on the needs of the department.
Work closely with the director in the establishment of new departmental policies and procedures. Assist in the implementation of JCAHO and other standards.
Evaluate and recommend new equipment and or supplies based on department need.
Ensure environmental cleanliness and organization of the department through the delegation of special assignments and duties.
Complete the staff work and call schedules.
Attend meetings as assigned.
Timely preparation of any report or special project as requested by the director.
Participate in and assist with the development and implementation of the Performance Improvement Program for the department.
