About The Position

The Central Service Technician 2 provides on-site support for the reprocessing of surgical instruments and trays to JHS facilities in compliance with the Department of Health, TJC and AORN standards and JHS goals and policies.

Requirements

• Generally requires 1 to 3 years of experience in sterile processing.
• High School diploma is required
• Valid Sterile Processing Technician Certification by CBSPD or IAHCSMM is Required.
• Incumbents hired before November 20, 2019 must complete obtain the required certification by December 31, 2021.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in related field is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates all mechanical machinery; cart washers, instrument washers, steam sterilizers, low temp sterilizers, ultrasonic and drying cabinets, within sterile processing.
• Uses established policies and procedures to complete work assignments.
• Able to performs in all areas of sterile processing including decontamination, cleaning, assembly, wrapping, sterilization, and storage processes within all set professional standards and regulations.
• Able to perform assembly on basic instrument trays.
• Reports broken instrumentation.
• Supports and adheres to JHS policies and procedures.
• Supervises and trains new personnel.
• Demonstrates behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise).
• Other duties as assigned
