About The Position

The Scheduler assists in planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating the activities occurring in the nursing station by performing clerical and receptionist duties and maintaining the physical environment of the area Brown University Health employees are expected to successfully role model the organization's values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence as these values guide our everyday actions with patients, customers and one another. Requirements

Previous experience in scheduling or a related field such as registration.
Medical terminology knowledge.
Keyboard/Data entry experience.

Responsibilities

Accurately takes bookings for outpatient services.
Chooses the correct test (s) and gathers all necessary patient information from the source, requesting the booking.
Processes cancellations and rescheduling quickly and accurately.
Records MD orders received, comparing written orders with the test booked and immediately resolves any discrepancies
Responds quickly to any booking problems identified by patient, clinical areas, and/or MD offices.
Completes patient pre-registrations for last minute bookings.
Provides accurate and timely answers to all inquiries, whether from patients, MD offices, or other hospital areas.
Completes work assignments within an acceptable time frame.
Uses time and resources to the best possible advantage for successful completion of job responsibilities.
Develops and maintains efficient working relationships.
