The Central Quality Process Senior Manager (CQE) plays a critical leadership role in shaping and advancing GE Appliances’ Quality Management System (QMS) across manufacturing operations. This position drives consistent quality standards across plants, partners closely with site leadership, and ensures robust processes that protect customers, improve performance, and reduce Cost of Quality (COQ). In this highly visible role, you’ll coach cross-functional teams, lead QMS digitization initiatives, support New Product Introductions (NPI), and ensure compliance with ISO standards—while continuously identifying opportunities to strengthen quality systems and drive operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years’ experience in quality engineering roles of increasing responsibility.

  • Current ISO 9001 auditor certification internal or upon hire, must obtain Lead auditor certification for ISO 9001
  • Proficiency in core quality tools: APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, and control plans
  • Experienced in problem-solving methodologies, including 8D, DMAIC, and 5 Whys
  • Skilled in design and evaluation processes
  • Ability to independently develop, manage, and implement aggressive project plans
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills
  • Proven self-starter who proactively identifies and drives change
  • Process-driven approach to quality management
  • Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems and quality processes, including their implementation or sustainment
  • Strong leadership and project management skills for aligning and driving cross-functional teams
  • Understanding of special processes: laser welding, sealed systems, fabrication, injection molding, and assembly
  • Experience in root cause analysis and mistake proofing
  • Experience within GEA Manufacturing or GEA Supplier Quality
  • Travel: Up to 25% of travel may be required for domestic and/or international travel to supplier sites/ plants as well as customer sites on an as needed basis for auditing sites.
  • Working Environment: Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work. Office and manufacturing plant floor work settings.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) across manufacturing sites.
  • Ensure plant teams understand and adhere to the Quality Policy, Quality System Manual, and Quality System Procedures (QSPs).
  • Drive QMS digitization initiatives, including audit tools, EOLA, and standardized documentation within Windchill.
  • Partner with plant leadership to identify quality gaps, implement corrective actions, and prevent defects from reaching customers.
  • Coach and train cross-functional teams on QMS standards, documentation, CAPA/CAR, MCP development, and gauge calibration methodologies.
  • Support NPI teams to ensure successful product launches through strong quality processes.
  • Lead and support internal and external ISO audits, including surveillance audits and re-certifications.
  • Facilitate and teach core quality methodologies, including the 9-Step Process and QMS 101 training.
  • Leverage lessons learned from internal and external failures to drive systemic, sustainable improvements.
  • Author, update, and refine Quality System Procedures (QSPs) as needed.
  • Lead all-plant QMS forums to align quality initiatives with business objectives.
  • Travel to manufacturing locations, including Mabe sites, to provide hands-on coaching and audit support.
