About The Position

GENERAL PURPOSE: The purpose of this position is to maintain quality standards and product levels of all fresh baked artisan bread products in the Central Production Artisan Bread department and train other Central Production Artisan Bakers. This person will be mixing, shaping, scoring, and baking artisan breads, receiving and storing product, determining production and inventory levels, and providing exceptional customer service.

  • Current Food Handler’s Permit
  • Enjoys working with and handling artisan breads and doughs
  • Enjoys cooking with and eating a variety of artisan bread products
  • Ability to read and follow a recipe
  • Basic math skills used to half or double recipes
  • Knowledge of baking procedures and times
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures
  • Excellent organization and planning skills
  • Must possess solid communication skills, including verbal and listening skills in order to effectively and efficiently communicate with customers and fellow associates
  • Ability to professionally and appropriately handle conflict
  • Must possess the ability to accept constructive review and be accountable for one’s own success as well as the success of your team
  • Required to make logical, significant decisions using general, recognized skills and techniques
  • Must possess integrity, a positive attitude, be mission-driven, and be self-directed with a demonstrated passion for Harmons’ mission and commitment to working collaboratively

Responsibilities

  • Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures
  • Ensures the quality and freshness of all products and services the Artisan Bread department provides
  • Ensures the forecasted orders are filled for the stores, by required timelines for delivery
  • Responsible for maintaining the appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the forecasted orders
  • Ensures all orders fulfilled are invoiced correctly and any credits are given as requested
  • Ensures the Artisan Bread department is cleaned and sanitized daily and meets the company standards for appearance and safety
  • Order Artisan Bread product and manager inventory
  • Provide Artisan Bread customer service to customers if needed
  • Follows precise recipes and techniques for mixing, shaping, scoring, and baking Harmons’ artisan breads
  • Writes production sheets for other Central Production Artisan Bakers
  • Teaches, mentors, and educates Central Production Artisan Bakers to help them be successful members of the team
  • Provides honest, direct, and constant feedback to artisan bakers regarding their performance and areas of improvement
  • Communicates openly and frequently with Director of Central Food Production and Central Production Artisan Bread Manager
  • Assists as needed to ensure the success of the company as a whole
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
