About The Position

GENERAL PURPOSE: The purpose of this position is to ensure that the Central Production Artisan Bread department maintains quality standards and profitability as it produces bread for several Harmons locations. This person will manage, train, and mentor all Central Production Artisan Bread associates and know all aspects of the Harmons Artisan Bread program. This person will also manage ordering and production based on forecasted orders and ensure store invoices are completed in a timely manner. This person will be working overnight and, in a stand, alone manner. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Follows established Harmons’ recipes, process, and procedures Ensures the forecasted orders are filled for the stores, by required timelines for delivery Responsible for maintaining the appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the forecasted orders Ensures all orders fulfilled are invoiced correctly and any credits are given as requested Ensures the Artisan Bread department is cleaned and sanitized daily and meets the company standards for appearance and safety Provide Artisan Bread customer service to customers if needed Order product and create production sheets to meet the needs of the forecasted orders Completes assigned tasks efficiently and in a timely manner Sets a professional and positive example to others Communicates openly and frequently with the Director of Central Food Production, Bakery Managers at delivery stores, and Bakery Sales Director Ensures strong collaboration and effective communication between the Central Production Artisan Bread team and the store Bakery team at the production location Ensures company standards for safety, sanitation, and productivity are maintained Writing the Central Production Artisan Bread schedule to ensure coverage and meet labor goals Approves timesheets and ensures Central Production Artisan Bread team has allotted time for any required training courses Teaches, mentors, and educates associates to help them be successful members of the team Provides honest, direct, and constant feedback to associates regarding their performance and areas of improvement; assesses associate performance and influences promotion, discipline, etc. Promptly addresses and resolves associates’ concerns and/or grievances Quarterly inventory of all Central Production Artisan Bread products Assists as needed to ensure the success of the company as a whole MARGINAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs other job-related duties as assigned. NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS: Consistent and daily interaction with store associates Consistent and daily interaction with customers Consistent and daily interaction with Central Production Artisan Bread associates

Requirements

A high school diploma or GED required; some college education preferred; five years of bakery experience preferred; or any combination of education, experience, and training which provides the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Current Food Handler’s Permit
Enjoys working with and handling artisan breads and doughs
Enjoys cooking with and eating a variety of artisan bread products
Knowledge of baking procedures and times
Ability to interpret policies and procedures
Excellent organization and planning skills
Must possess solid communication skills, including verbal and listening skills in order to effectively and efficiently communicate with and manage diverse groups of people
Ability to professionally and appropriately handle conflict
Must possess the ability to accept constructive review and be accountable for one’s own success as well as the success of your team
Required to make logical, significant decisions using general, recognized analytical skills and techniques
Must possess integrity, a positive attitude, be mission-driven, and be self-directed with a demonstrated passion for Harmons’ mission and commitment to working collaboratively
