About The Position

Provides technical support to the lab by receiving/processing requisitions/specimens and ordering specified lab tests according to standard operating procedures. Responds to phone requests and enters lab test data into computer.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required
• Keyboarding experience, 40 wpm preferred
• Candidate must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced, customer service oriented environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly.
• Must be able to maintain absolute confidentiality in the handling of patient information.
• Able to work in a high stress environment with little/no downtime.
• Must be able to work in a team setting and maintain absolute confidentiality in the handling of patient information.
• Absolute integrity and accuracy in patient identification process.
• Position may require flexibility related to the end of shift as shift end time may vary with workload.

Nice To Haves

• Associates Degree with a minimum of 6 semester hours of chemistry and 6 semester hours of biology preferred.
• MLA certification from a nationally recognized credentialing agency (i.e. ASCP or AMT) preferred
• Previous work experience strongly preferred.
