About The Position

The role is responsible for demonstrating competence in decontamination, assembly, sterilization, sterile storage, and case cart assembly. The role is responsible for demonstrating competence in decontamination, assembly, sterilization, sterile storage, and case cart assembly. Supports the Mission, Vision and Values of Munson Healthcare. Monitors the quality and quantity of workflow to ensure work is completed. Champion for process improvement initiatives. Able to work independently doing special projects and a super user and designated trainer/preceptor on multiple pieces of CPD equipment and/or applications such as instrument tracking software. In the absence of a team leader and/or supervisor, may be responsible for functioning in a lead role. Embraces, communicates, and participates in ensuring departmental compliance with AAMI standards and The Joint Commission readiness. Performs all other duties as assigned. Munson Healthcare requires all employees be vaccinated or have lab confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella. MHC also requires all employees to receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year that they are hired and annually thereafter, or receive an approved medical or religious exemption.

Requirements

  • Consistently demonstrates all requirements of CPD Tech II
  • Maintain certification as a Technician in Sterile Processing from either CBSPD or HSPA
  • Holds an additional certification from one of the accrediting bodies in one of the following: scope processing, CST, instrument certification
  • Minimum three (3) years of related experience
  • Vaccinated or have lab confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella
  • Receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year that they are hired and annually thereafter, or receive an approved medical or religious exemption
