In a fast-paced environment, under direct supervision, detailed oriented individuals are responsible for the cleaning, assembly, sterilization and storage of instrumentation and equipment required for surgeries, examinations, and clinical procedures in accordance with the product company’s manufacture Instructions, AAMI, AORN, OSHA, CDC, and FDA guidelines. Case cart preparation and distribution of OR and clinical procedure instruments and supplies entered in a tracking data bases prior to delivery. Utilizing critical thinking to provide solutions to arising issues and concerns to maintain patient safety. Recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the “Top 10 Hospitals” in Michigan, this major teaching and research hospital has been advancing care since 1953. It is a Level II trauma center and has been recognized for clinical excellence and innovation in the fields of orthopedics, neurosciences, women’s health, heart & vascular, and cancer care. Under direct supervision of CSP leadership conducts rounds daily in CSP department to proactively identify and resolve instrumentation and supply issues, which may impact patient care and surgeon satisfaction assist in shift operations. Trains new orientees, serve as a technical, and functional resource for staff while performing all duties of the CPD Tech I or II as required. Assists with the turnover of high priority instruments between cases, as needed. Works with vendors regarding daily loaner process from sign-in to 48 hour pick up.
